Gina McCarthy nominated as new EPA Administrator

On March 4, 2013, President Obama nominated Gina McCarthy to be the next Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.  She replaces New Jersey native, Lisa Jackson.  Ms. McCarthy currently heads the EPA’s Air and Radiation Office.  As such, she has focused on climate change and as with some other Administration nominations, this one will be controversial because of that focus.
